From September 11 to 14, the International Amateur Theatre Festival RIGA PLAYS THEATRE 2025 will take place at the VEF Culture Palace, bringing together theatres from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Croatia, and Bulgaria.

The play based on a crime report read accidentally in a newspaper that a man had killed his young wife out of jealousy in a Russian province. At the heart of the play is the daughter of a needy widow Larissa, who depends on her mother’s agility and the financial support of wealthy men. And yet in love, Larissa struggles to find fulfilment in her life, but it doesn’t work out for her. Larissa is looking for love, but she’s not the only one. Love, which is denied, hidden, ridiculed, yet proven to be necessary for everyone.
