Violin ensemble KANTILĒNA

Violin ensemble KANTILĒNA was founded in 1965. Long term artistic director of the ensemble is Tatjana Lakida, accompanist Olga Kovaļova. Participants of the ensemble are violin enthusiasts, but their performance is as good as professionals.

Their repertoire includes compositions from A. Vivaldi, J. S. Bach, N. Paganini, A. Dvorak, D. Shostakovich, E. Darzins etc., which shows ensemble’s musically professional qualities. Many of Latvian composers have written their musical pieces specifically for the ensemble KANTILĒNA.

Many well-known organists from Latvia like T. Deksnis, B. Mieze, J. Ļisicina have performed together with KANTILĒNA. Ensemble has performed and gained a recognition not only in Latvia, but also in Russia, Poland, Germany, Finland, USA and Spain.
