From September 11 to 14, the International Amateur Theatre Festival RIGA PLAYS THEATRE 2025 will take place at the VEF Culture Palace, bringing together theatres from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Croatia, and Bulgaria.

Anthon Chekhov’s comedy “The Matchmaking” shows the life of the Russian mobility. A demonstration of the matchmaking of a person constrained by honor and benefit, mocking selfishness, stupid principles and empty, petty ambitions that overshadow essential things. Fortunately, these vices, albeit temporarily, are suppressed by the all-powerful feeling-love.
